What Works For Others May Not Work For You

Have you ever seen or heard of a great idea to maybe promote a brand or your company and thought “oh that would be awesome to do for my business!”  How many times have you tried that and it didn’t go as planned?  I’m raising my hand on this one too friend.

That’s just how it goes, what works for one person or company may not work for what you’re trying to accomplish.  It may not be the right target market you appeal to with that idea or it may be the wrong image for what you do and gives the customer a mixed signal.

I attempted this one with Business Beware and it gave members a confused idea of what the site truly was.  I quickly learned that (thank goodness) and changed it to better fit what our message was.  You have to adapt to your niche and really appeal to them.  It may take a few tries but ultimately you will figure out what works for you and your business.  Many times your members or customers will let you know with their feedback so definitely take it in.

If others have a great idea you can still take it and make it your own (not copying of course) where it can help you rather than hurt you.  Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box either.  I know you hear that a lot but it’s so true.  Traditional is going out the window and it will be gone later on down the road.  Dare to be different….
